Flat foot care in Saint-Léonard and Dollard-des-Ormeaux
Various causes of flat feet
The many causes of flat foot include excessive elasticity in the ligaments or tension in the calf. A biomechanical imbalance between the forefoot and the hindfoot may also lead to this physical condition.
Newborns are more prone to suffering from this type of disorder. Through biomechanical analyzes, I am able to determine whether the tendons, ligaments and small bones under the foot are properly supporting the body weight of the patient or not.
I use biomechanical analyzes to better evaluate the condition of each patient's feet.
Some consequences of flat feet
Flat feet can cause foot and ankle pain. In the long run, they can also affect the knees, hips and back. Furthermore, they may hinder the patient’s ability to walk, run or play sports. It thus becomes necessary to treat flat feet which can be done by wearing plantar orthoses.
I am able to prescribe the perfect type of orthotics suited for the degree of severity of your condition.
